Robert W. Luehr was the son of William Henry and Clara Luehr. His full name was Robert William Luehr. William and Clara were both born in New Holstein. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin, W. H. Luehr was a respected teacher, principal, editor and publisher, and more. William's uncle Peter Luehr moved to Iowa and used the surname Lear.
